Our Design Philosophy
At Nature’s Rhythm Design Studio, we begin with the land and the life our clients want to build around it. We study each site—its architecture, views, grades, and natural systems—before shaping a plan that feels rooted in place. From a private garden to a property-wide master plan, our work brings outdoor living, planting, water, and stone into a cohesive whole.
Based in Travelers Rest, we guide residential landscape projects across Greenville and the Upstate of South Carolina from initial concept through installation.
Our Process
Project Planning
We start by understanding the whole property.
We document existing conditions and study circulation, grades, drainage, views, and how you want to live outdoors. A property-wide plan sets priorities for the design and, when appropriate, gives construction a clear sequence of phases.
Design
Ideas become a clear, buildable design.
From schematic concepts through construction documents, we develop the spaces, materials, planting, and details that give each landscape its character. We review the work with you at key decisions so the design feels at home with the architecture and works for the way you live.
Build
Design intent guides every decision on site.
For design-build projects, NRDS leads the design and coordinates installation with our dedicated construction partner. We manage materials, scheduling, and site decisions so the finished landscape reflects the approved plan and the intent behind it.
For projects built by others, we can also provide construction administration and owner representation to carry the design through completion.
Maintenance
Long-term care protects the design as it matures.
We offer maintenance for the landscapes we create, with care guided by the planting plan, seasonal growth, and the details that make each property distinctive. We can discuss the appropriate maintenance scope for your project as installation nears completion.
